Here are my ingredients for the secret sauce of a nearly perfect pitch to a blogger. Without it, it is highly unlikely that you will get even a nibble from a blogger. Make sure that your product or service and pitch match the bloggers interests. Otherwise, a blogger just might assume that you got lucky, not that you were smart.

This is probably the root cause of the most egregious blogger relations SNAFUs. They still play the numbers game -- build as big a list as possible, focus on the "top" blogs and bloggers, blast the pitch and see what falls out. In the end, I had a balanced list of 40 mommy bloggers. Bloggers are your customers.
