Lets start by pulling out something Louis wrote: Not every public relations firm is an expert in dealing with bloggers. They followed-up with bloggers on that day. Face it, bloggers are busy. No one wants that.

Since I wrote my original post on PR and Blogging Outreach: 8 Practical Tips , I've noticed a deluge of postings by bloggers about how to pitch bloggers. Ochman's WhatNextBlog: She posted her MaketingSherpa article on How to Pitch Me - and Other Bloggers - with PR. Um - maybe they just need to now how to reach out to bloggers.

Dont have your office intern hapzardly send out a canned pitches, get to know the bloggers first. also blog at.

This is probably the root cause of the most egregious blogger relations SNAFUs. They still play the numbers game -- build as big a list as possible, focus on the "top" blogs and bloggers, blast the pitch and see what falls out. In the end, I had a balanced list of 40 mommy bloggers. Bloggers are your customers.
