Specifically a post from Louis Gray: Bloggers and PR Are Not Enemies, But Quality Efforts Are Needed. Lets start by pulling out something Louis wrote: Not every public relations firm is an expert in dealing with bloggers. Bad PR is bad PR, and simply carries over into the blogosphere. Face it, bloggers are busy.

Postrank is nice for rankings. Paul, the site Newsbobber ranks local blogs according to a simple formula. For example, there are a number of PR blogs I read regularly that don’t show up on Postrank or Alltop. Building a great blogger outreach list is about two things: research and hard work. What works for you?

This is probably the root cause of the most egregious blogger relations SNAFUs. They still play the numbers game -- build as big a list as possible, focus on the "top" blogs and bloggers, blast the pitch and see what falls out. also contacted a friend who is a professional photographer and blogger for her recommendations.

My real challenge was getting my staff to warm to the concept of being a blogger. That was the voice of many of my bloggers at one time or another. In the beginning (for us), and when I start up a new blogger (this morning), this question comes up very early in the discussion. Bottom line, the bloggers are the experts.
