Since I wrote my original post on PR and Blogging Outreach: 8 Practical Tips , I've noticed a deluge of postings by bloggers about how to pitch bloggers. I had been updating my original post with any posting that I came upon regarding this topic.

Being social media savvy, you add blogger outreach to your PR plans for a new product launch. You carefully craft your message, following best practices for blogger PR outreach : personalize each message, make it clear that you've read the blog and understand its subject matter, and explain the relevance of your message. Just as with advertising, PR relies on frequency. You carefully research blogs using related keywords and competitor names to build a solid outreach list. You send your messages, and then...nothing.
While there are a lot of posts about how to pitch a blogger, I thought it would be an interesting twist to list the top five mistakes I’ve made a la Letterman style:   My Top 5 Pitching Blogger Mistakes   Number 5: Oops - I thought that was MISS Blogger, not MISTER Blogger   And the number 1 The posts that I learn the most from are by those who are willing to show their mistakes and what they’ve learned.
