« Camp Baby Blogstorm | Main | Insanity » 03/21/2008 PR people: do your homework BEFORE you reach out to bloggers As weve seen this week alone, from the Camp Baby blogstorm and other incidents (like inviting Jewish moms to Disney over Passover), it is painfully apparent that many PR firms and reps reaching out to bloggers dont do their homework . This is probably the root cause of the most egregious blogger relations SNAFUs. A poorly written pitch makes you chuckle.

Whatever we call it, the shorthand version is that it involves engaging with bloggers, with programs and promotions that they will wish to share with their readers. I’ve been writing about blogger relations on Marketing Roadmaps for quite a while now, and in my opinion, we are in the midst of a fairly important change.

Make sure that your product or service and pitch match the bloggers interests.
