I had an online demo of Rapid Intake's new online authoring tool Unison , and I must admit I was impressed. Unison has the flavour of a web 2.0 tool which, although not free, is pretty close. • Microsoft Learning Content Development System
I don't know where this appeared from or why but it seems that Microsoft has a rapid e-learning development tool. It's available for free download and there don't seem to be any strings attached. I'm not completely convinced because there's very little information about this product and it certainly isn't being marketed heavily. My best guess is that this is a tool used by Microsoft itself or by one of its contracted developers, and someone suggested making it more widely available. It's a desktop tool, it's easy to use fairly versatile as long as you are prepared to work within very ...

I'm going to quote Christy Tucker's comment on one of my DevLearn post because she brings up a good point. That and I'm ridiculously flattered. Not often I get my name mentioned with Stephen Downes in the same sentence. For those not familiar with Christy's blog , she has been blogging almost as long as I have and finds the greatest stuff in her daily bookmarks. By the way, my lack of comment on any post from anyone is more a reflection of my continued struggle with trackbacks and reporting. • Mac Authoring Tools - Help Needed
I was just asked a question and was a bit at a loss for a response. • Authoring Simulation Genres: Branching Stories
One well-understood simulation genre is branching stories . In branching stories, students make multiple-choice decisions along an ongoing sequence of events around what to say to another person in a given situation. The decisions impact the evolution of the story, ultimately terminating in either successful or unsuccessful outcomes. Their ease of use, ease of deployment, and content style make them highly appropriate for entry-level salespeople, call center representatives, freshmen, customer-facing retail positions, and entry-level managers. Any high-turnover position should be trained, ...

I am in the process of implementing Moodle and my first time using an eLearning tutorial developed with Captivate did not go well. I ran a little test with a small group of people who are accessing Moodle through a Citrix connection. The tutorial froze up on about %50 of the end users and worked great for the other half. My first thought is that the organization is currently going through a network upgrade which has caused a variety of system issues. I am hoping ...
