  • Interesting Distribute Publishing Model and Open Source
via Stephen Downes ) Impact of Open Source Software on Education, Series Launch is interesting both because of the publishing model and because of the content. The publishing model is something we might want to consider at LCB . What they've done is recruit authors who are going to publish (via a blog) something between a blog post, interview and an article every other week on a particular topic - in this case Open Source. Each post will have comments, questions, etc. from readers. They have a Wiki ( "Impact of Open Source Software on Education" series, visit WikiEducator ) that they. . • The big question: choosing tools
The Learning Circuits Blog Big Question for July is 'how should e-learning developers choose their authoring tools given the proliferation of tools on the market?' Well, I posted on this subject just last week (see Confused of Brighton ) and even listed my own top ten tools , authoring or otherwise, in a subsequent post. Many new and simple feed readers became available for loading my RSS feeds , and open source wikis simply blew the doors of possibility wide open. !

  • The big question: What are your predictions for learning in 2008
even open source. At the higher end of asynchronous e-learning, we'll see increasing use of serious games and simulations, but progress may be. similar open source platforms as a simple and low-cost means for delivery of online and blended programmes. An ever growing proportion of enlightened. In addressing this month's question on the Learning Circuits Blog , I was tempted by an observation made by Stephen Downes in his review. . If they're lucky and are given the space to experiment, they'll be confused about what - if anything - they're supposed to do to make it happen. Synchronous e-learning will continue to grow and open source variants such as dimdim will help bring down the cost.
