Dust-up at Training Zone
Wednesday, November 26, 2008
Jay Cross, the man who coined the term ‘elearning’, believes the web is revolutionising the way we learn. Not through the kind of elearning of the 1990s but via the explosion of online communities which effectively democratise ... ;elearning’ on the web. Now the California-based guru thinks that learning heaven has arrived in the shape of Web 2.0. Corporate eLearning Podcast EPISODE1
EPISODE#1 of the Corporate eLearning Development Podcast In the first episode we discuss the Term Learning2.0 . We had some technical difficulties during the live recording over at TalkShoe.com but most of it was "new user error". What a great tool! You can also email it to a friend, Create a link for your blog or webpage, and Listen on iTunes. You can find the education quotes that Judy Brown mentions HERE . Scroll to the bottom and ...

eLearning Guild Research: Blog and Survey
I know that there are a lot of good people and organizations out there doing research around elearning topics right now, but I have to say that from the corporate standpoint - the eLearning Guild is really doing some great work. I also wanted to call attention to two items - first is the Guild's Research Blog - curently manned by the Director of Reseearch himself - Steve Wexler.
The nice thing about the blog is that the posts are usually centered around ... thoughts to the eLearning 2.0 Survey . I'd also encourage you to follow and comment on Steve's blog. You really ...

Corporate eLearning Weekly - Talkcast Episode8
Corporate eLearning Weekly - Talkcast Episode 8 is completed. Click the link above or the Talkcast widget to the right. This week I had the pleasure of 2 live guests: Allison Anderson and Cammy Bean Two relatively new bloggers share their unique experiences lifting the flat wood panel of Web1.0 to uncover the buzzing, active, beehive of Web2.0. (Cammy gets full credit for the metaphor...thanks, Cammy!) Cammy also introduces us to Chinswing.com . It looks like an audio forum. Very cool. There are a couple other blogs too, but my browser crashed and I lost them. We ...

Will Blogs, Wikis, RSS, Mashups be Used in Corporate eLearning?
I saw another post from Dave Boggs, Has The Blogging Trend Begun To Fade, Even Before It Ever Got Started In Corporate Training / e-Learning Environments? In this post, Dave unfortunately lumps together blogs, wikis, mashups, rss feed together (probably because eLearning 2.0 and web 2.0 often lump them together). However, I think the answer about adoption ... Blogs have much slower adoption. Wikis provide an opportunity for us to create reference hybrids - Shift in eLearning ... natural extension of what we are already used to doing. See: Authoring in eLearning 2.0 / Add-ins & Mash-ups .

Proton Media - Corporate Virtual Worlds
One of the big surprises at the eLearning Guild Conference was seeing the many improvements over at the Proton Media booth . Lots of buzz amongst my colleagues in this space. The integration of many Web2.0 tools directly into the virtual 3D environment is very slick, and compelling. but I'm scanning my feed reader and notice this little company ... blog from ProtonMedia, so I'm hoping he can add some insight to this conversation. It looks like he was as the Virtual Worlds conferece recently prior to attending the eLearning Guild event . So I'm looking forward to his next posts.

Happy Anniversary Corporate eLearning Development
Well, I made it to 12 months. My first post was on this day in 2005. My original plan was to do it for 6 months just to see what all the fuss was about. By the time that 6 month mark hit I was fully engaged well beyond my original intent. I've had conversations with other Learning professionals via the blog, and met amazing people from around the ... to be along for the ride. Thanks to my fellow eLearning bloggers who have linked, and supported my comments and remarks ... ! UPDATE: I share my blog birthday/anniversary (whatever) with the tool that I use... Corporate eLearning Weekly Episode#1 - Jay Cross
Episode#1 of the podcast Corporate eLearning Weekly is "in the can". I may not continue the Learning2.0 podcast . I like this format much better. What format, you might ask... Well, Corporate eLearning Weekly is simply going to be me rehashing my blog from the previous week. Boring, you might say... Well, the cool thing is that you can join in the conversation and talk about the same topics that I am blogging about. I envision readers/listeners commenting on the blog and then supporting their comments live on the Talkcast. And since I also ...

Web 2.0 Corporate Access
I've been working with Steve Wexler and the eLearningGuild on the eLearning 2.0 survey. This is resulting in some pretty interesting data such as the Web 2.0 Tools Used in corporations.
