AG08 at the reception: people and how they come across
The eLearning Guild's Annual Gathering has started. Yesterday there were a couple of master classes and pre-conference sessions, but I limited myself to taking a swim (enthusiastic: there is a heated, big, outdoor swimming pool, hooray!) and going up to the VIP-reception in the evening. Conference Networking Tools - Do They Work?
I just saw a post by Mark Oehlert - Good for introNetworks! - in which he points to introNetworks Secures $2.7 Million in Series A Funding . IiL08 - Keynote, Peter Orton
The Innovations in Learning Conference (IiL08) is underway! Gary Woodill introduced the traditional handshake at the beginning of the conference (we can say it’s a tradition now that we’re in our second year) and Dr. Brandon Hall introduced longtime friend Peter Orton from IBM. Peter proceeds to blow everyone’s socks off with the announcement of MindStorm. That’s all I can say about it until later…I didn’t want the security guard to confiscate my computer this early in the conference : ) All I can say is that it might involve Christopher Walken.

The #1 answer to the rhetorical survey question about implementation barriers: culture
It wasn’t so long ago when I gave an underwhelming response to a question at the end of a web conference. The question went something like,
“what kind of problems [implementing these new things] are companies running into and what are they doing to overcome barriers?”
My lame-o response went something like,
“I don’t really have a lot of specific instances of failure for you. Often, the barriers involve the culture of the ... policies involving security of information and you will involve them in making sure you have adequately followed them.
