Yahoo! Developers Network: Courses and TechTalks
I've obliquely blogged about this content before, but I discovered a better access point which seems to list all the courses (from Ajax to Javascript) and TechTalks all in one location. This Yahoo portal page also has a iTune subscription link.
Yahoo! Developer's Network: Courses and TechTalks
I've also added this information to the Engineering Learning Wiki Software Engineering Section . However, remember both the seminars and courses pages allow you to use the custom Google Co-op search engines. Yahoo! was added to both search engine indices.

Designing eLearning, Reading, Instructional Design, mLearning, Yahoo!, & Google
... how much an instructional designer and instructional design is needed?
At Yahoo, a need to hit refresh - c/net ... like many U.S. companies. At the time, the approach made sense and Yahoo saw dramatic financial improvements.
But ... themselves--instead of the company--first, according to people familiar with Yahoo.

Delicious Upgrade
Yesterday, at my presentation Introduction to eLearning 2.0 - ASTD OC , I mentioned that Yahoo MyWeb had a few features that del.icio.us was sorely missing. And that had made me previously conclude: Yahoo MyWeb better than del.icio.us, rollyo, et.al. for Personal / Group Learning However, I told everyone that del.icio.us had been acquired by Yahoo and it was likely that slowly these features would get integrated. And today, I just saw - Delicious Preview - Next Gen Search For Yahoo? and Delicious 2.0. It looks like search across content of bookmarked pages has been ...

Future of Media Summit ‘08
My table of five here at the Future of Media Summit at the Computer History Museum analyzed Yahoo! to try out Future Exploration Network’s Strategy Tools. We looked at Yahoo! past, present, and future along the dimensions of connecivity, interfaces, relationships, services, content, and standards.
Yahoo! began as a recommender of links and became a ... specific, e.g. PR Newswire, so again a focus on specialty areas might differentiate them. Yahoo! would like to be sticky, but ... current market cap and we’re skeptical Yahoo! stock is going to rise.

Seeing through the crystal ball
From an article I wrote in January 2007 :
Microsoft hates losing business to upstart Google, first in search, then in advertising, and now threatening the Office monopoly. To try to make up for lost ground, Microsoft will buy Yahoo!
I guess I’ll have to wait for Wal*Mart to acquire Amazon.

Why RSS and Folksonomies Are Becoming So Big
An RSS feed is a blog distilled to its core essence. If you look at the output of an RSS feed in a reader, you'll see no comments, no trackbacks and (for the most part) no design. It's the better blog. It's pure data.

Harold's PKM Process
Another great post by Harold Jarche - My PKM System . His picture is a great visualization of how I personally go about Personal Learning for Learning Professionals . It's worth looking at his picture. Also, Harold says that the tools don't matter that much - I would tend to agree. It's more the discipline. But I do like the full-text search of Yahoo MyWeb for finding past stuff. Keywords: Personal Learning , Informal ...

Personalized Learning- Lessons from Tim, Pizza Hut and Betty
Data can help personalization, but data is a means, not an end. I stumbled into a nice reminder of that. Tim Sanders, Leadership Coach at Yahoo delivered an interesting keynote at DigitalNow last year. Follow the link below to learn how the CEO of Pizza Hut and a single customer shared a great experience when he called her. Tim Sanders - Betty the Pizza Lady (Windows Media, 7 very worthwhile minutes) How can we data mine the impersonal performance results to create this sort of memorable, high-impact experience for learners?

Use of iPods and other Mobile Learning
Not sure if this came from the same person, but I saw a question posted on TrDev and was sent to me via Yahoo 360 that covered the same basic topic: How are iPods and PDAs being used in corporate learning applications? The unfortunate answer is that it's doubtful that any numeric answer exists for this, but there are lots of examples out there. Some places I would suggest you look to get a sense of what's going on: Judy Brown's mLearnopedia Blog summary of a recent presentation by Judy Brown Lucy Carter's presentation about Sales Training at Apple Search under "mobile ...
