Back from I/ITSEC....let me explain this creature a bit...
    Friday, December 5, 2008
So I'm back from IITSEC and I'm starting to dig through all the backlog of stuff (emails, Tweets, etc) but I did want to post something about this conference since it is a unique experience for me. The unique aspect is that usually I post a lot of stuff from the conferences I attend/present at but not this one. Why? 'IITSEC is different' seems to be a woefully inadequate description. How is it different? First - its huge. Attendance is usually 15,000 to 20,000 and ... presentations are only 20 mintutes long and all the papers are published on a CD that comes in your bag so physical ...
Stuff you didn’t know about Google
    Friday, December 5, 2008
An average day for me consists of heavy reliance on Google. Search. Email. RSS. Earth. And much more. What do I know about Google? Not enough. I’ve created a wiki page on Google: Hidden Ideology of Search for a workshop I’ve delivered in the past. But, like most people, I don’t have a deep understanding of what makes the company tick, where it’s going, and what it’s doing. Techcrunch links to a presentation I need to spend more time reviewing: Everything you wanted to know about Google.

  • Using Blog for Presentation - eLearning?
Dennis McDonald has a great post about Using a Blog for a "Web2.0" Presentation instead of PowerPoint . I love his postscript: "I debated whether or not to use the term "Web 2.0," which has fallen out of favor among the cognoscenti. I decided to use it, though, simply because it has to an extent emerged into popular usage and it takes less space to type than the words "social networking and social media." Here is how I defined "web 2.0" for the group: The term "web 2.0" describes two dimensions of web based publishing: 1. Web 2.0 as Technology ...

  • How the brain works according to Dr. John Medina and Wii
In one of his last posts he got me on to this presentation by Garr Reynolds based on the book ‘ Brain Rules ' written by Dr. John Medina. The presentation is a lot of fun, really focused on the essence of how the brain works and specifically how presenters can make a presentation much more thrilling for their audiences.
