Week of the Corporate Drone
The week before Labor Day and all is (strangely) quiet in IT World. Most of the docs are on vacation (or so frustrated with the system and the speed with which things are being fixed they've given up). Half of IT, including the boss, is at a conference in Boston. The temperature in Washington DC fluctuates between 100 and 75 during the course of late August. The office stays a steady 60 degrees and fluourescent. I have spent the past couple of weeks engaged in the monotonous task of re-formatting old tutorials to fit our new templates. In the dramatic temperature variations between the ...

Corporate eLearning Weekly - Talkcast Episode 8 is completed. Click the link above or the Talkcast widget to the right. This week I had the pleasure of 2 live guests: Allison Anderson and Cammy Bean Two relatively new bloggers share their unique experiences lifting the flat wood panel of Web1.0 to uncover the buzzing, active, beehive of Web2.0. (Cammy gets full credit for the metaphor...thanks, Cammy!) Cammy also introduces us to Chinswing.com . It looks like an audio forum. Very cool. There are a couple other blogs too, but my browser crashed and I lost them. We ...

Proton Media - Corporate Virtual Worlds
One of the big surprises at the eLearning Guild Conference was seeing the many improvements over at the Proton Media booth . Lots of buzz amongst my colleagues in this space. The integration of many Web2.0 tools directly into the virtual 3D environment is very slick, and compelling. but I'm scanning my feed reader and notice this little company... Corporate eLearning Weekly Episode#1 - Jay Cross
Episode#1 of the podcast Corporate eLearning Weekly is "in the can". I may not continue the Learning2.0 podcast . I like this format much better. What format, you might ask... Well, Corporate eLearning Weekly is simply going to be me rehashing my blog from the previous week. Boring, you might say... Will Blogs, Wikis, RSS, Mashups be Used in Corporate eLearning?
I saw another post from Dave Boggs, Has The Blogging Trend Begun To Fade, Even Before It Ever Got Started In Corporate Training / e-Learning Environments? In this post, Dave unfortunately lumps together blogs, wikis, mashups, rss feed together (probably because eLearning 2.0 and web 2.0 often lump them together). However, I think the answer about adoption ... Blogs have much slower adoption. Wikis provide an opportunity for us to create reference hybrids - Shift in eLearning ... natural extension of what we are already used to doing. See: Authoring in eLearning 2.0 / Add-ins & Mash-ups .
