What's the opposite of evolution? An interesting question about SCORM
... you think the SCORM E-Learning Reference Model will evolve into during the next 10 years? SCORM is literally 10 years old ... the technology going is being adopted by a major player in non-traditional learning for grade and high school students ... ;I'm not sure SCORM is still relevant. I do think that LETSI is trying to head down this road with their SCORM 2.0 Call for Papers and the upcoming SCORM 2.0 Workshop. LETSI/SCORM 2.0 Wrap Up and Thanks!
So I spent most of last week at the LETSI / SCORM 2.0 Workshop in Pensacola, FL. I used CoverItLive to do a ... I did want to be sure and point out that the workshop developed and is currently refining about 30 use cases for SCORM 2.0 . SCORM and MMOGs
I just read an article in Military Training Technology about how the Joint Advanced Distributed Learning (JADL) Co-Laboratory is working on a project to "research methods for enabling interoperability, accessibility, and reusability of SCORM compliant learning content in 3-D virtual worlds". Although this article was published in the October issue, I went to the JADL website and found that the project kicked off in May 2007. Regardless, this effort promises to advance the integration of SCORM and MMOGs by researching training opportunities, the characteristics of learning content ...

SCORM vs e-Learning 2.0

Collaborative effort in making contents for SCORM just so that, can be applied in e-Learning 2.0 seems pointless.

SCORM Compiant WIKI - Xerceo
... well. The Learning Object proponents have been trying this for years and I haven't really seen it work effectively. I'm guessing each wiki page is like a learning object that is tagged. If you select a tag then you get all of the content organized around that tag, and then you can export it in a SCORM compliant wrapper to report out to the LMS. ??? I don't know. The Perfect Learning Management System (LMS)
I often find myself daydreaming when dealing with LMS problems. I say to myself, "If I built an LMS, it would…….." Ah, if only it were that easy. This line of thinking leads me to these questions: How would you design your perfect LMS? What features would you include (or exclude)? How would it differ from current LMS products on the market?
I’ll start this off, but I really would love to hear your thoughts. Who knows, maybe (if we’re lucky) some LMS vendors are listening!

Rapid e-learning - a new convert
I'm in the middle of designing and developing a new blended learning course on the whole subject of embedded learning ... new fangled rapid e-learning tools that everyone's talking about (I know, I'm a little slow on the uptake!). Well anyway ... upload all these materials into Moodle without any problems and the SCORM tracking works on the quizzes. Although I may not recommend this particular tool to develop long pieces of self-study learning, I don't believe there are many circumstances in which I would recommend anyone to do that anymore anyway. So call me a rapid e-learning convert.
