Collaboration Tools
Tuesday, December 2, 2008
As I mentioned in Real-Time Collaborative Editing , I had a fantastic experience participating in group editing of a Mind Map of collaborative tools during a session at Learn Trends. You can see the result below. But it was interesting to see the results exported which I've embedded below. I would expect the document to continue to grow and change, but thought it would be worth having it available in a text format as well (so I can find it when I need it ... How do you keep up with all the new trends/tools?
In speaking with a recently acquired colleague (I think I'm going to start elearning trading cards) we were discussing how difficult for us "experts" (if we can loosely call ourselves that) it is to keep up with all the new web tools, elearning trends, latest software, best techniques, etc. I know for myself I'm constantly trying to keep up-to-date ... as if one or two colleagues have a really good handle on some new trend and I let them run with it, but go to them for ... having the same trouble keeping up with everything? Manager Training Online Courses
I received an inquiry from someone I know, and I'm hoping people who read this blog can make suggestions. I'm looking for vendors who supply off-the-shelf training for basic manager skills such as, time management and delegation. Promising Trends in Health Care
I'm noticing a major cultural shift occuring in my health care organization. Doctors, in general, tend to be very independent creatures. They work the way they want to work. More functional departments work together, but still stay within their own little specialty fiefdoms. "We're different" is the cry I have heard with every single Electronic Medical Record implementation and change management project I've been on since I started doing this 5 years ago. The walls are breaking down. Why now? I suspect the docs see the advantage to seeing each other's notes. Reduced duplicate tests, ...

Zany times at Corporate Learning Trends
Sometimes things go so far off the rails that all you can do is chuckle at life’s absurdity. Today at Learn Trends , I demonstrated my ability to screw up everything technical within reach.
Harold Jarche, Clark Quinn, Jane Hart, and I had planned to lead a session at noon today to explain the thinking we’ve gone through to develop a lightweight, turn-key social learning platform .
