Elliott Masie and the Emperor's New Slide Show
I was interested to read in Donald Clark's review of Learning 2005 that Elliott had decreed that there should be no PowerPoint at the show. Learning in real time
It took me a while to adjust to the idea of virtual classrooms, what with unreliable connections and then endless online death by PowerPoint. The Value of Multimedia in E-Learning
Al Moser trashes voice over PowerPoint in this blog post about using multimedia in eLearning. He feels audio is a weak solution because it reduces knowledge retention, reduces productivity, reduces accessibility, and removes searchability. He concludes by saying recorded VIDEO sucks. I believe Al is making this about the tool (PowerPoint + audio) when he should be talking about the method and the quality of ... this the modality effect .
